One Airlifted After I-74 Crash

On Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at approximately 3:59 PM, Decatur County Communications received a call of a single vehicle crash, with the vehicle on its side in the eastbound leftlane of I-74. It was also reported that the driver of the vehicle had been ejected into the median of the interstate.

Upon arrival of Decatur County Sheriff’s deputies, there were off duty Indianapolis Fire Dept. personnel tending to the injuries of the driver. The driver was identified as Kenneth Joseph Huff of Greensburg. Due to the extent of injuries to Huff, an air ambulance was called to the scene. Indiana PHI 7 arrived and landed on the interstate, causing both east and west bound lanes to be shut down until Huff could be safely loaded onto the helicopter. Huff was then flown to an Indianapolis hospital.
