One Air Cared, three others hurt in two-vehicle collision

Elrod, IN — Four people were hospitalized following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of US 50 and Farmers Retreat Road in Elrod.

Ripley County Sheriff’s deputies say a car driven by Isaac Tibbits of Dillsboro was northbound on Farmers Retreat Road when he attempted to cross US 50 but drove into the path of a Jeep driven by Liana Sohmer, also of Dillsboro.

Tibbits’ car was struck on the driver’s side.

He was taken by Air Care to UC Health in Cincinnati.

Sohmer and two juveniles were taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Dearborn.

In addition to the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office and Air Care, also responding to the scene were Ripley County EMS, the Milan, and Friendship fire departments, and the Milan Police Department.
