Oldenburg, In — An Oldenburg Academy student has been appointed to the IHSAA Student Advisory Committee. Senior, Alexis Brown will be one of 18 students on the panel for the 2017-18 school year.
The panel is made up of nominees from 409 schools in Indiana. The committee meets four times per year and hosts meetings with student peers, assists with award ceremonies, plans the annual leadership conference and supports the activities of Special Olympics. Other SAC functions include the development of an IHSAA Captain’s Handbook as well as assisting in the creation of multiple public service announcements addressing good sporting behavior to be used during 2017‐18 state championships events.
