Oldenburg Academy takes late offense enough to earn win over Jac-Cen-Del

The Oldenburg Academy Twisters (2-1) took the lead late in the game in an 8-5 victory over Jac-Cen-Del (0-4) on Saturday. The game was tied at four with the Twisters batting in the top of the sixth when Jacob Hoff doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

Clay Eckstein earned the victory on the hill for the Twisters. The pitcher lasted three innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out four and walking one. Jacob Stenger started the game for Oldenburg Academy Twisters. Stenger surrendered four runs on four hits over four innings, striking out six.

Clark Dwenger was saddled the loss for the Eagles, giving up three runs in just 1 and 1/3 innings work.
Devin Grieshop would pitch the next four innings, striking out five and walking five while giving up two earned runs. Landon Comer pitched the final 1 and 2/3 innings, surrendering two runs, while striking out two and walking three.

The Twisters saw the ball well, racking up seven hits in the game. Matthew Hesselbrock and Sizemore all collected multiple hits for Oldenburg Academy Varsity Twisters. Hesselbrock went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Twisters in hits.

Jac-Cen-Del had eight hits on the day. Blake Dilk went 1-2 with 2 RBI, while Devin Grieshop batted 2-4 with 1 RBI.

The Twisters will head to South Ripley on Tuesday, April 11th with a 5:00 start time. The Eagles return to action on Monday versus Shawe Memorial. First pitch for that one is at 5:00 pm.
