Oldenburg Academy AD Patrick Kolks announced senior Kate Walke will continue her education and track career at the University of Evansville.

As a junior in the 100 hurdles, Walke placed second in the sectional and had a fifth place preliminary time in the regional.

Walke was joined by coaches and family as she signed her National Letter of Intent to continue her education and athletic career at the University of Evansville. Walke will compete on the Purple Aces track and field team.

“I went to many colleges and universities and Evansville just gave me this feeling of being at home,” Walke said.

OA track and field coach, Shane Coppotelli, gave Walke a lot of praise.

“Kate has worked very hard these last four years,” Coppotelli said.  “She was very determined to become the best version of herself, and I am very happy to see all of her hard work pay off.  I’m very excited to see what she accomplishes at the next level.”

The Purple Aces compete in the Missouri Valley Conference that includes: Bradley, Drake, Evansville, Illinois State, Indiana State, Loyola, Missouri State, University of Northern Iowa, Southern Illinois and Valparaiso.

We thank Mr. Kolks for the information.
