(Decatur/Shelby/Rush/Franklin Counties, IN) – The National Weather Service says an EF-0 tornado touched down in Decatur County north of Clarksburg Tuesday night.
The twister’s wind speeds reached 80 mph and damaged utility poles and tree branches in the four minutes and four-and-a-half miles it was on the ground.
Another EF-0 tornado touched down near St. Paul on the Shelby County side, but the most powerful of Tuesday night’s tornadoes was an EF-1 that touched down in southern Rush County near Milroy.
That twister had wind speeds around 110 mph and hit a metal barn, which scattered debris.
Meanwhile, the Franklin County Community Foundation has set up a relief fund for county residents and property owners affected by Tuesday night’s storms.
