NWS confirms tornado hit Rush County

RUSH COUNTY, IN — The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado caused damage on Wednesday afternoon in Rush County.

The EF-1 twister with peak winds of 100 mph was on the ground for nearly 10 miles between 4:08 and 4:28 pm.

The roof of the Posey Township Volunteer Fire Department on US 52 (pictured) and several homes and other structures were damaged but no one was hurt.
