Sarah Swain gave up just two hits and didn’t allow a single run as North Decatur varsity softball defeated Waldron 19-0 on Thursday.
Swain led the Chargers to victory by driving in six runs. Swain went 2-for-3 at the plate. Swain drove in runs on a grand slam in the first, a walk in the second, and a single in the third.
North Decatur’s biggest inning was in the 4th when they put up six runs. Kennedy Stier, Macy Scudder, Jo Whitaker, and Mia Stier, all knocked in runs in the inning.
The Chargers finished with nine hits in the game. Stier, Sami Luttel, and Swain each collected multiple hits for North Decatur Chargers . Stier went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead North Decatur in hits.
A single by Brooklyn Hudnall in the fourth inning was a positive for Waldron.
Hudnall took the loss for Mohawks. The hurler lasted three innings, allowing three hits and seven runs while striking out one.
