North Decatur varsity baseball’s 11-runs not enough in loss to Hauser

North Decatur varsity baseball stayed in it until the end, but Hauser pulled away late, handing the Chargers a 12-11 loss on Friday.

In the top of the seventh, with the game was tied, Hauser’s Owen McIntyre singled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run to give the Jets a 12-11 lead.

North Decatur collected 13 hits on the day. Tyler Dean, James Evans, Brayden Hancock, and Reid Messer managed multiple hits for the Chargers.

The Jets scored five of their twelve runs in the fourth inning. Simeon Wasil, Holden Pittman, and Nathan Worland all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Sam Louden led things off on the mound for Hauser. The ace allowed seven hits and six runs over one and one-third innings, striking out one.

Tyler Dean toed the rubber for North Decatur. The righty went three and two-thirds innings, allowing eight runs on six hits and striking out two. Kamdenn McKinney and Xander Jones entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two innings and one and one-third innings, respectively.
