North Decatur varsity baseball scores 9 in 3rd inning to win handily at Edinburgh

North Decatur Chargers varsity baseball put up nine runs in the third on its way to a 17-1 victory over Edinburgh on Wednesday.

Trailing by 1 run in the top of the 3rd inning, North Decatur pulled away for good with nine runs in the inning. Josh Evans, Brayden Hancock, Tyler Dean, Ried Messer, Xander Jones, and Kamdenn McKinney each had RBI in the frame.

Hancock was the winning pitcher for North Decatur. The lefty went five innings, allowing one run on three hits, striking out 12, and walking zero.

Jared Myers was on the hill for Edinburgh. He went four innings, allowing 11 runs on ten hits and striking out three. Eli Turner threw one inning in relief.

The Chargers varsity saw the ball well, racking up 13 hits in the game. Dean, McKinney, and Evans each managed multiple hits for North Decatur. McKinney and Dean each collected three hits.
