North Decatur varsity baseball loses in 11-1 six innings to Hauser

North Decatur Chargers varsity fell behind early and never recovered in an 11-1 loss to Hauser on Thursday.

Hauser took a 2-0 lead early in the first inning when Zayne McCaulis singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run. The other run in the inning came on a single by Holden Pittman.

The Jets would later score four more runs in the fifth inning to give them an 8-1 lead. Hauser would follow up with 3 more runs in the bottom of the 6th to end the game 11-1.

At he end of the contest, Hauser had 16 total hits. Holden Pittman, Simeon Wasil, Kameron Blair, Stryker Gill, and Zayne McCanlis each racked up multiple hits for Hauser.

Owen McIntyre took the win for Hauser. The ace allowed five hits and one run over six innings, striking out 11.

Brayden Hancock took the loss for North Decatur. Hancock went four and two-thirds innings, allowing eight runs on 11 hits and striking out four.

James Evans, Xander Jones, Ried Messer, Hancock, and Nolan Burkhart each collected one hit for the Chargers.
