North Decatur Jr. High baseball wins big in season finale

The North Decatur Jr. High baseball team went on the road to take on the Morristown Yellow Jackets to wrap up their season on Saturday. The Morristown baseball coaching staff and team put in a lot of hard work to even allow this game to happen after a heavy rain left the last game of the season in question.

Going in to this game, the Chargers had a pitch by committee plan of attack. The goal was to get different players some time on the mound before the season came to an end. Grayson Downey, Dekon Ramsey, Hayden Koehne, and Brayden Murray all saw an inning of action on the bump for the Chargers in the 24-6 win.

Offensively, the Chargers hit the ball really well all day long. The team tallied 11 hits on the day. Leading the way was Downey (2 hits), Murray (single, double), Kipton Ruf (2 doubles), Wyatt Reisman, Ayden Sefton, Dekon Ramsey, Ashton Murray, and Hayden Koehne all added hits in the game. Hudson Muckerheide and Hunter Fruchnicht both had RBI in the game, and Aiden Lloyd had his two hardest hits of the season ,only to see players from Morristown make two great plays to rob him of hits. Henry Kinker scored 3 runs on the day.
