North Decatur Girls Varsity Volleyball defeats Morristown 3 – 1

North Decatur Varsity Volleyball defeated Morristown in 4 sets Thursday evening. With that win, the Lady Chargers are now 3-0 in the Mid-Hoosier Conference and 13-6 on the season! The team also earned an IHSAA Sportsmanship Award for participation and donation to the Morristown High School event supporting one of their students!

The Charger offense was strong with setter Kelsey Haley enabling the offense with her 49 assists. Sydney Rohls had a great night with 17 kills. Miley Scudder put away 12 kills, Ella Kunz added 10 kills and Madi Allen added 9.  Annie Waechter and Sarah Moeller both added 4 kills on the night. Our back row defense set up the offense for success with Hannah Gorrell receiving 39 serves and picking up 21 digs. Madi Allen had 14 service receptions and 14 digs. Sarah Moeller received 8 serves and grabbed 18 digs and Clare Kinker picked up 14 digs and 4 serves.  Kelsey Haley was also active defensively with 19 digs on the night.  Gorrell, Moeller, and Rohls all served 100% for the game! Gorrell and Haley aced Morristown 4 times each, Moeller added 2 aces, and Rohls and Scudder both added an ace. Great game Lady Chargers!

The JV Volleyball team took Morristown to 3 sets (25-16, 12-25, 10-15) but couldn’t pull out the win Thursday. Ally Whitaker served up 4 aces, Kendall Hostkoetter and Laura Guzzardi added 3 aces each, and Brooke Mauer served 100% from the line and added an ace. Hostkoetter picked up 9 digs against Morristown and Ally Whitaker had 7 digs. Anna Mauer and Oakley Freel both grabbed 4 digs. Laura Guzzardi set up the offense with 4 assists. Jo Whitaker and Brooke Mauer put away 2 kills each. Ally Whitaker, Ellie Johnson, and Gabi Adams each added a kill.
