North Decatur Girls Varsity Basketball

Westport- The Lady Chargers continued their dominance in the county series over rival South Decatur, knocking off the Lady Cougars 48-30.

It was another balanced attack both offensively and defensively from the red and blue. Opening the first quarter with a 10-6 advantage. Senior Madelyn Bohman led all scorers in the period with 6 points. Kelsey Haley dropped in a pair. The mixed approach defensively kept the Cougars at bay, causing multiple turnovers.

The Lady Chargers extended the lead in the 2nd quarter behind 5 points from Madi Allen and 7 from Bohman. At the half, it was 25-16.

Junior Ella Kunz came alive in the 3rd quarter knocking in 4 points inside. Madi Allen hit two jumpers from the top of the key and North extended the lead with strong defensive play from Clare Kinker. Kacey Barker drilled a three pointer. 41-22 North after three. 

South did outscore North in the fourth 8-7 but the comeback never materialized. The final score read 48-30.

The Chargers improve to 3-3 and turn to the Lawrenceburg Tigers on the road Monday night.
