Lawrenceburg- The North Decatur JV Girls battled Lawrenceburg on Monday night and came away victors 43-24 to improve to 2-4 on the season.
The JV Chargers got out to an early start jumping to a 9-2 lead out of the gate. Ally Whitaker dropped in 7 points in the 1st quarter and Kacie Ogden put in a bucket as well.
In the 2nd quarter, it was a balanced attack from four Lady Chargers getting into the scoring column, led by sophomore Sydney Rohls with 4 points. Freshmen Libby Crawford and Jo Whitaker both scored 2 in the period. And sister Ally Whitaker added 2. North led at the half 19-9.
North would outpace the Tigers in the second half 24-15 to extend their lead. Jo Whitaker had 13 points in the second half to finish with a game-high 15 points. Brook Mauer also contributed with 5 of her own. Sophomore Emma Schoettmer dropped in a nice jump shot to get into the book as well.
