North Decatur Football

The Chargers battled against the defending sectional champions in the first round of sectional 2022 and left Straughn, Indiana with a victory.  The Chargers traveled to Tri High to face the 8-1 Titans and treated the standing-room-only crowd to a great football game.  Neither team found the end zone in the first quarter, opting instead for a battle of defensive wills.  The Titans, who were ranked 4th in the country in rushing yards, found the end zone in the air during the second quarter with a 22-yard pass from Mason Wilson to Grant Cash.  The Chargers would answer with a second-quarter score of their own with just 1.5 seconds left in the first half.  The second half would continue to be more of the same defensive battle with neither team finding the end zone in the third quarter.  The Chargers would break the stalemate early in the fourth quarter with a 1 yard run from Reid Messer.  The Titans would continue to battle but the Charger defense stood firm.  A 78-yard pass from Carson Parmer to Kaden Muckerheide would end the debate and the Chargers would kneel out to a 22-8 victory. The Chargers now face Milan in the sectional round 2.  The game will be at Ed Kaelin field beginning at 7 p.m. this coming Friday.
