North Decatur C-Team Falls to JCD

Osgood, IN – The North Decatur Chargers C-Team travelled to Jac-Cen-Del to do battle with the Eagles on Monday.

North Decatur got off to a hot start straight from the tipoff, the Chargers jumped out to a 14-9 lead behind Henry Kinker’s 11 point first quarter. Kipton Ruf also dropped in a layup and Simon Barber added a free throw to bring to lead where it was at the end of the quarter.

Both teams matched up well in the second quarter and the flow of the game started to show itself. Both teams didn’t give in on either ends, especially North Decatur, who held a 5-point lead headed into halftime. Midway score, 25-20. Kinker led the way at the half, with 14 of the 25 points.

The third quarter saw Harper Gunn knocking in 2 threes to help extend the Chargers lead to 6 before clutch time in the fourth quarter. Simon Barber also added 4 points in a quarter where ND outscored the Eagles 10-9.

However, in the fourth quarter, Kipton Ruf scored the only 2 points for the Chargers and the Eagles were able to take the lead late in the game and didn’t give it up. Final score, 40-37 in favor of Jac-Cen-Del, who completed the small comeback late in the fourth quarter.
