North Decatur Boys Cross Country Opens Season with Great Showing

The Chargers opened their season on Thursday evening at Greensburg High School in a 4 way meet with the host Pirates, Batesville, and South Decatur.  The Chargers claimed 3rd place with many runners competing in their first 5K of their career.

Leading the way was Junior standout Eli Weisenbach with 13th place finish in a time of 20:13.  Sophomore Harper Gunn (22:02) and Freshman Jayden Lawrence (22:52) followed Weisenbach crossing the line in 20th and 23rd place respectively. Jackson White (23:02) and newcomer Cletus Rennekamp (23:21) ran great races as well finishing in 24th and 25th place.  Sam Cathey (24:10), Logan Summey (27:19), Teagan Striecker (27:54 new PR), Clayton Ruf (28:57) and Jake Dimett (30:30) all competed well for the Chargers.

North Decatur returns to action on Saturday at the Small School Invite at Blue River Cross Country Course in Shelbyville with a start time of 9:00.
