Norbert Raymond Evans

Norbert Raymond Evans, 96, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Tuesday September 10, 2019 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

He was born July 24, 1923 in Dearborn County, IN, son of the late Harold Evans and Edna (Roof) Evans.
Norbert served his country as a member of the United States Army during World War II.

He worked as a line worker for Seagrams Distillery, retiring after over 43 years of service.

Norbert attended Life church, in Aurora. He was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors. Norbert enjoyed music, especially Jazz, Blue Grass and Old Time Gospel. Norbert was a great storyteller, he was loved by everyone and he never met a stranger.

Norbert is survived by his loving spouse of 39 years, Simone Evans; children, Sheryl (Art Roth) Kammeyer of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jeff Evans of Moores Hill, IN; step-children, Jocelyn (Larry) Seymour of Florence, IN, Monique (late Gene) Houze of Aurora, IN, Michael Shinkle of Aurora, IN, Mark ( late Jerrie) Shinkle of Aurora, IN, Michelle (Bill) McClurg of Aurora, IN and Sue Walston; grandchildren, Adam Kammeyer, Melissa Weaver, Shawn Walston, Krista Walston, Scott Houze, Chris Houze, Matthew Houze, Jessica Allen, Aric Shinkle, Kathy Goins, Nicholas McClurg, Makayla McClurg and Kim (Scott) Cox;  twelve great-grandchildren; dear family friend, Casey Rohrback.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Audrey Bourgholzer and brother, Vernon Evans.

Friends will be received Monday, September 16, 2019, from 5:00-8:00 pm at Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, Indiana.

Services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Kenny Hopper officiating.

Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana. Military graveside services will be conducted by members of local Veterans Service Organizations.
