Nora Goodrich, age 101 of Brookville

Nora Goodrich, of Brookville, was born on March 11th, 1924, in Cawood, Kentucky, daughter to the late Thomas and Sarah Johnson Osborne. She married Hurtle Ernest Goodrich and he preceded her in death on July 29, 1989. Nora devoted her life to her family and was fortunate to spend most of her years as a homemaker. She was a member of the Scipio United Baptist Church. Nora found great happiness in tending to her garden and flowers, preparing bountiful meals for family and friends, and expressing her creativity through embroidery and various arts and crafts. Always by her side was her loyal dog, Baby — a devoted and spirited companion who fiercely protected her, never letting anyone get too close without his approval; the two are now reunited once again. On Thursday, April 17th, 2025, at the remarkable age of 101, Nora passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family.

Nora’s legacy lives on through her children: Brenda Rains, Delana (Steve) Brown, and Lenora (Clayton) Brockman; 32 grandchildren; 83 great-grandchildren; as well as 42 great-great-grandchildren. Aside from her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Steve Goodrich; one daughter, Rose Davis; 4 stepchildren, William Goodrich, Tommy Goodrich, Barbara Osborne, and Howard Herring; 2 grandchildren, Stephanie Brown and Keith Rains; as well as 8 siblings, Jim, Will, Steve, Lee, Bruce, John, Dan, and Vina.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Nora on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor David Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
