(Greensburg, IN) – No one was injured in a fire at the tAAp restaurant and bar on Washington Street along the Greensburg square on Sunday evening.

Fire chief Nathan Stoermer says it started in electrical wiring and spread to the awning but did not get into the building.

Crews from nearby Greensburg Fire Department Station 2 arrived within 45 seconds of the initial dispatch around 6:17 p.m., and had water on the flames shortly afterward

Stoermer says their quick action prevented further damage, which was limited to smoke and water.

The owners posted on social media that they’re not sure when the tAAp will reopen, “But know this…We will bounce back because we know you all won’t let anything but that happen.”
