No one injured in downtown Batesville house fire

BATESVILLE, IN — No one was injured when flames broke out early Thursday morning at a home in downtown Batesville.

Fire Chief Todd Schutte says the initial call came in around 5:10 am. When crews arrived on the scene, heavy smoke was coming from the rear of the home.

All of the residents were able to get out of the home safely. There were no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire and a damage estimate are not available.

The Batesville Fire Department was assisted at the scene by crews from Oldenburg and Morris.

The displaced residents received assistance from the Red Cross and the Batesville Ministerial Association.
