No more snow days for Krause

Batesville, IN — Mother Nature this week decided to not make retirement a smooth transition for Ed Krause, who has retired as the Transportation Director with Batesville Community School Corporation (BCSC) today after being with the school for over 20 years. Tuesday’s snowstorm meant one last trek around the community to make sure that all the students, faculty, and staff of Batesville Schools were safe for their journey to school.

Krause stated when he chose this date as a good time to retire, he had not planned on it being in the middle of a pandemic. “This year has been unusual for everyone, but I am excited about my future”.  Krause noted that that mid-year is generally a great time to retire because all the busses are up and running and requires less training than the beginning of the school year.

He says he plans on a part-time job as something to do, but will relax some with his combined 47-years in the workforce with 27 of those years being with the Indiana State Police prior to his work with the schools.
