NAPOLEON, IN — There were no reports of injuries after Napoleon firefighters battled flames at a home on the 6200 block of North Old Michigan Road Thursday evening.
Crews were able to quickly put out the fire, which was mostly contained to a kitchen addition to the home with some damage in the main structure.
The fire is believed to have started around an electrical cooking device that was left unattended.
In a social media post, the fire department is reminding residents to always keep cooking appliances clear from any combustibles, and be sure to only operate the devices under close supervision.
