North Decatur varsity baseball gives up 6 runs in sixth inning in 12-1 loss against Morristown

North Decatur Chargers varsity baseball had trouble keeping up with Morristown in a 12-1 loss on Friday. That, in large part, was due to the Yellow Jackets’ six-run sixth inning.

Michael Ballinger, Kamdyn Gaines, Dyllan Rutledge, and Kade Rogers all drove in runs in the frame. Bryce Bryant led the Yellow Jackets at the plate, going 3-for-4.

Grant Kessler was credited with the victory for Morristown, surrendering one run on one hit over six innings, striking out 16.

Brayden Hancock took the loss for the Chargers, giving up five runs on five hits over three innings, striking out six and walking one.

Reid Messer led North Decatur with one hit in two at-bats.
