Nicholas John “Nick” Bruno Jr., born on November 14, 1939, in Trenton, New Jersey, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025, at the age of 85 due to advanced Parkinson’s Disease.
Nick was the beloved husband of Mary Elizabeth Bruno and a devoted father to Mike (Beth) Bruno, Jim (Melissa) Bruno, and Juli (Pete) Foran. He was also a proud grandfather to seven beautiful granddaughters: Sydney, Paige, Morgan, Avery, Madelyn, McKenna, Olivia; and two great-grandchildren: Barrett and Emberly.
Nick grew up in Trenton, New Jersey, as the middle child of Stella and Nick Sr. He graduated from Saint Vincent College and later joined the Marines. After his service, Nick pursued a career in the manufacturing industry, went on to earn a master’s degree from Xavier University, and continued to advance through various management positions, ultimately retiring in Summerville, South Carolina. During his retirement, Nick enjoyed spending time outdoors, working in his yard, volunteering at Mepkin Abbey, and playing golf.
Nick was a loving husband and father who instilled the values of hard work, family, and independence in his children. He will be remembered by all who loved him as a devoted family man and a person of deep Catholic faith who cherished time with his family.
Nick is survived by his loving wife, Liz; his children: Mike, Jim, Juli; his seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by his younger sister, Maureen Nicolai. He was preceded in death by his parents and older sister, Lucielle Bruno.
Nick’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 9:00am to 11:00am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 1331 E. Hunter Robbins Way, Greensburg, IN 47240. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 11:00am, also at the church, with Father John Meyer officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
