New round of I-74 ramp restrictions announced

Batesville, In. — The Indiana Department of Transportation has released the following list of ramp restrictions for the $61 million full-depth reconstruction of I-74 between New Point and State Road 101.

  • Eastbound on- and off-ramps at the Penntown/Sunman exit in Ripley County should reopen Wednesday evening November 1.   Through traffic will continue to be restricted to the left lane between mile markers 155.0 and 156.0.
  • Westbound traffic will be shifted to the left lane between mile markers 156.0 and 155.0 during overnight hours of October 31 with westbound on- and off-ramps closing at the Penntown/ Sunman exit Thursday morning November 2. .
  • Eastbound on- and off-ramps at the New Point exit at mile marker 143.0 in Decatur County are scheduled to open to traffic on Wednesday, November 8, after a 15-day closure.  Westbound ramps at that exit were reopened one week ago.
