NEW POINT, IN — The New Point Volunteer Fire Department was called to a fully engulfed semi on eastbound I-74 Thursday afternoon.

The semi had been undergoing repairs in a Greensburg shop and the driver was taking it for a test drive when a mechanical failure threw oil everywhere and caused the semi to catch fire.

There’s no word if anyone was injured.

Also responding were the City of Greensburg Fire Department, Decatur County Sheriff’s Office, and Decatur County EMS.
