New Horizons Seeks COVID-19 Donations

Batesville,IN— At the end of March, New Horizons had to make the decision to suspend operations to protect the lives of our clients and staff. While we were able to continue services with our residential care and provide limited services in Community Connections and our Pre-ETS programs, we did so with the utmost care. Thankfully, to date, there have been no cases of COVID-19 in any of our programs.

Though New Horizons is anxious to reopen, it needs to make sure all necessary precautions are in place to protect the health and well-being of everyone. While it has been hard to find the necessary supplies, we are very thankful for the organizations and individuals in our community that has stepped up to assist us in our time of need.

They are very grateful for the generous donations from Proximo, MGPI, Franklin County 4-H, the Ripley County Community Foundation, and the United Way of Greater Cincinnati.

While New Horizons has received some donations, it still has a major need. The additional expenses for supplies were not planned in our budgets. With this being said, I am reaching out to each of you for any contribution you are willing to provide to help as we move forward in reopening. Purchases will need to be made of large amounts of laser thermometers, gloves, disinfectant, face masks, Clorox wipes to keep all of the clients and staff safe. Plus, in the event, there is a potential case in our residential program, the gowns & face shields will be needed immediately.

Donations can be made on our website under the “Give” tab on the far right side of the page, through PayPal or by mailing a check to New Horizons, 237 Six Pine Ranch Rd, Batesville, IN 47006.  If you would prefer to donate cleaning supplies, paper towels & disinfectant wipes can be dropped off on the bench in front of our Batesville location. Thick Papers towels will be especially useful as we are going to make our own disinfectant wipes; if we cannot find ones to purchase.
