Indianapolis, In. — The Indiana State Board of Education will vote today on new graduation requirements for Indiana high school students.
A 14-member special panel (Indiana’s Graduation Pathways Panel) approved the measures during meetings held between August and November to help students prepare for post-secondary life.
In addition to existing requirements, students must obtain an industry certificate or take the SAT to qualify for a diploma.
Many educators believe the new requirements discriminate against special needs students and those with English as a second language.
