Murder charges dropped in overdose death case

Versailles, In. — Following a decision by the Indiana Court of Appeals murder charges against James Trimnell have been dropped. Trimnell was charged in connection with the overdose death of Rachel Walmsley in Batesville in July of 2017.

Ripley County prosecutor Ric Hertel plans to wait for the pending court decision regarding Trimnell’s co-defendant Nathaniel Walmsley before moving forward. However, additional charges against Trimnell have not been ruled out.
