Loretta Sue Hite, 66, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2026, at the home of her daughter, Stephanie, in Hope, Indiana, surrounded by her loving family.
Born April 3, 1960, in Covington, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Carol Hite. On April 26, 1975, she married Stephan Mangold in Byrdstown, Tennessee. Their marriage blessed her with two wonderful daughters, Sherry and Stephanie.
Loretta was fun-loving, enjoyed laughter, and treasured time with family and friends. She loved unconditionally, always seeing the best in her children and standing beside them throughout life’s challenges. Her family finds comfort knowing she accepted Christ as her Savior and is now free from suffering, resting peacefully in eternity. Romans 8:18.
She is survived by her children, Rodney Hite (Amanda) of Versailles, Sherry (Mangold) Edwards of Vevay, and Stephanie (Mangold) Lopez (Gustavo) of Hope; her longtime companion, William “Billy” Fancher, and his daughter, Jenna (Fancher) Harris.
Loretta was a loving Mamaw to Jesse, Jacob, Robby and Samantha Edwards; Whitney Bolden; Roman and Saxton Hite; Tristan Arthur; and Caitlyn McAlister. She also held Rose, William, Amarie, Anari, Jameson and London close to her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved grandson, Michael Hite.
