Mrs. Sue (Sides) Turner, age 86, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on August 17, 1939 in Vevay, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late James Ira Cross and Edith (Montanye) Sides. She was raised in Vevay, Indiana and was a 1958 graduate of the Vevay High School. Sue was united in marriage on January 27, 1962 to Nelson Larry Turner in Madison, Indiana. This happy union of over 52 years was blessed with one daughter, Anita. Sue was employed for the US Shoe Factory in Vevay, Indiana, for eight years. She was a charter member of the Switzerland County YMCA. Sue enjoyed spending time at the YMCA and playing euchre with her friends. She was an avid UK basketball and Cincinnati Reds fan. Sue took pride in maintaining and keeping a meticulous home and lawn. Sue passed away at 12:05 p.m., Thursday, July 23, 2026, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.
Sue is survived by her daughter, Anita McCullum and her husband, Jerry of Solomon, Maryland; her twin grandsons, Jacob McCullum and his wife, Meghan of Saint Leonard, Maryland, and Lucas McCullum and his fiancée, Marianne Carpio of Boston, Massachusetts; her great-grandson, Jonah Nelson McCullum of Saint Leonard, Maryland; her brother, John Sides and his wife, Judy of Versailles, Indiana; her brother-in-law, Ronald Lee Snyder of Vevay, Indiana; and her several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Ira Cross and Edith (Montanye) Sides; her husband, Nelson Larry Turner; her brothers, Fred and Don Sides and her sisters, Louise Arnold, Sarah Polk, Eleanor Ford, Ruthie Taylor, Faye Snyder, Jane Stewart, and Mary Linda Sides.
A Memorial Gathering Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 10, 2026, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
A Celebration of Sue’s Life will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 10, 2026, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
