Mrs. Stacey Lynn (Schaum) Banta

Mrs. Stacey Lynn (Schaum) Banta, age 54, of Madison, Indiana, was born on October 22, 1969, in Willingboro, New Jersey. She was a devoted daughter to Carl George Schaum, who preceded her in death, and Barbara Jean (Archer) Schaum of Madison, Indiana. Stacey was a proud graduate of Madison Consolidated High School, class of 1988. She attended Vincennes University and earned her LPN license from Ivy Tech Community College in Madison, Indiana. She dedicated over 21 years of her life to Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana, and also worked for several years at Hanover Nursing Center in Hanover, Indiana, showcasing her strong work ethic and commitment to caring for others. She was also a traveling nurse for a few years. On May 19, 2001, Stacey married Casey Ray Banta in Madison, Indiana, and together they created a loving home. Stacey’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family, cherishing moments that would turn into lasting memories. She was an avid beach lover, often traveling to coastal destinations to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. In her downtime, Stacey enjoyed watching the news, staying informed about the world around her. Stacey will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will remember her as a hardworking, loving individual who always put others first. Her legacy of love and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Stacey passed away at 12:27 a.m., Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Stacey is survived by her husband, Casey Ray Banta of Madison, IN; her children, James Robert Cox and his wife, Lydia of Madison, IN, Megan R. Banta of Louisville, KY, Alexia R. Banta of Indianapolis, IN and Sydnie R. Banta of Madison, IN; her mother, Barbara Jean (Archer) Schaum of Madison, IN; her brother, C. Wade Schaum of Madison, IN; her father-in-law, Kenton “Casey” Banta of Vevay, IN; her sister-in-law, Dawn Banta of Moorefield, IN; her brother-in-law, Robert Banta of Indianapolis, IN and her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Carl George Schaum, died January 22, 2022; her parental-grandparents, George W. and Kathleen C. (Lacy) Schaum; her maternal-grandparents, Everett and Magaleen (Kellams) Archer and her mother-in-law, Barbara Ann (Belch) Banta.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Sunday, October 13, 2024, at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive, Madison, Indiana 47250.
