Mrs. Sarah M. (Keith) McCreary, age 87, of Bennington, Indiana, entered this life on March 28, 1936 in East Enterprise, Indiana. She was one of 16 children born to the parents of, James Wilford and Avis O. (Chase) Keith. She was raised in Switzerland County, Indiana and attended Vevay High School. Sarah was united in marriage to Lowell Leroy McCreary on January 25, 1957 at the Allensville United Methodist Church. Sarah and Lowell shared over 54 years of marriage together and were blessed with three sons, Kevin, Darrin and Jason. Sarah was a former employee for Reliance Electric Company in Madison, Indiana for several years. She enjoyed gardening, as well as, cooking in her spare time. Sarah was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church and was a former member of Allensville United Methodist Church. Sarah passed away at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at Ripley Crossing in Milan, Indiana.
Sarah will be missed by her sons, Kevin McCreary and his wife, Mary of Milan, IN, Darrin McCreary and his wife, Terre of Vevay, IN and Jason McCreary of Bennington, IN; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Mefford and her husband, Mike and Jennifer Woffindale and her husband, Mark; her great-grandchildren, Declan McAlister and Brenna, Addison and Emma Mefford; her step-great-granddaughter, Kendra Mefford; her sisters-in-law, Martha Keith of Center Square, IN, Ruth Ann Keith of Rising Sun, IN and Barbara Keith of Vevay, IN and her several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents: James Wilford and Avis O. (Chase) Keith; her brothers: Denver, Albert Wayne, Hubert Wesley, Kirby, Paul Dean, Clifford, Leon, Wilford “Junior”, Larry, Roy “Red” and Jonas Keith; her sisters, Juanita Koons and Hazel Knaus; one infant brother and one infant sister.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 28, 2023, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the New Liberty Cemetery, East Enterprise, Indiana.
