Mrs. Rosalie (Powell) Wagner

Mrs. Rosalie (Powell) Wagner, age 87, entered this life on December 2, 1937 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was the daughter of Carl and Helen (Riehle) Powell, both of whom preceded her in death. She was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio until age 10 when the family moved to Aurora, Indiana where she attended high school. She was a former carhop for Frisch’s in Aurora, Indiana for a few years where she met the love of her life Donald L. Wagner. Rosalie and Don were united in marriage on March 2, 1959 in Aurora, Indiana. This happy union of over 55 years was blessed with two daughters, Melissa and Donna. Rosalie owned and operated with her husband DM Trucking in Cleves, Ohio for 20 years. She was a former member of the Citizens Band Radio Club and her handle was “Blue Rose”. She was a former clerk for the Aurora Public Library for 10 years, where she found great joy in serving the community. Rosalie enjoyed reading, quilting and sewing. Rosalie and Don had a passion for dancing and cherished their time together attending various dances in Aurora, Indiana. She was an active member of the Aurora Baptist Church in Aurora, Indiana. Rosalie passed away at 9:40 a.m., Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Ripley Crossing in Milan, Indiana.

Rosalie is survived by her daughters, Melissa Park and her husband, Marty of Vevay, IN and Donna Loving of Orono, ME; her grandchildren, Jason Park and his wife, Amy of Cincinnati, OH, Sara Dickerson and her husband, Tracy of Vevay, IN, Abigail Ghaim and her husband, Fetewi of Westfield, IN, Haley Strout and her husband, Michael of Charleston, ME, and Hope Loving and her companion, Moses of Orono, ME; her great-grandchildren, Austin Park, Jacob Dickerson, Garrett Kent, Lauren Owens and her husband, JP, Zara Samedy, Nabila Ghaim, and Asmara Ghaim; her great-great-grandchildren, Penelope June Owens, Ruby Owens, and Jaime Owens; her brothers, Charlie Powell and his wife, Diane of Taylor, MI, Joe Powell of Cincinnati, OH, and Carl Powell of Colorado Springs, CO; her sister, Shirley Cooney and her husband, Bill of Garland, ME, and her several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Powell, died July 20, 1944; her mother, Helen (Riehle) Powell, died March 28, 1987; her husband, Donald L. Wagner, died August 27, 2014; her son-in-law, Daniel Ray Loving, Jr., died December 18, 2016; her sister, Nancy O’Banion; her brothers, Jim and Jack Powell; her infant sister; and her sister-in-law, Dorothy Powell.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 23, 2025, by Pastor Bill Secrest, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Rising Sun New Cemetery, Rising Sun, Indiana.
