Mrs. Rinda Jane (Staggs) Reed

Mrs. Rinda Jane (Staggs) Reed, age 57, of Pleasant, Indiana was born on March 16, 1967 in Flemingsburg, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Maurice Courtney and Dorothy Katherine (Staggs) Gutierrez. Rinda graduated from Switzerland County High School in 1985. Rinda was united in marriage to Bill Stearns and this union was blessed with a daughter, Jackie. Later, she found love again and married Robert Leslie “Bob” Reed on August 14, 2004, at the Vevay Church of Christ in Vevay, Indiana. She was employed as a bank teller for Friendship State Bank in Vevay, Indiana, where she worked for 10 years. A beloved wife, mother, grandma, and friend, Rinda dedicated her life to her family, especially cherishing the moments she spent with her granddaughter, Joanna. Her passion for travel and adventure was reflected in her love for planning trips and exploring new places. In her free time, she enjoyed reading and baking. Rinda attended Brushy Fork Baptist Church in Pleasant, Indiana. Rinda will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will forever cherish her memory and the joy she brought into their lives. Rinda passed away at 2:04 p.m., Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at the UC Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Rinda is survived by her husband, Bob of Pleasant, IN; her daughter, Jackie Stearns of Madison, IN; her granddaughter, Joanna Jane Hartwell of Madison, IN; her mother, Dorothy Katherine (Staggs) Gutierrez of Vevay, IN; her sisters, Glenna Nicholas and her husband, Dan of Indianapolis, IN and Cindy Little and her husband, Barry of Dallas, GA; her brothers, Jeff Staggs of East Enterprise, IN; Arthur Gutierrez of Indianapolis, IN, José Gutierrez Jr. and his wife, Sydney of Indianapolis, IN Anthony Gutierrez of Indianapolis, IN and Andy Gutierrez and his wife, Maria of West Lafayette, IN and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Maurice Courtney; her step-fathers, Glenn Cottey and José Trevino “Joe” Gutierrez and her sister, Dora Adkins.

Rinda’s wishes were to be cremated with no services being held at this time.
