Mrs. Nancy Lynn (McKay) Wilson, age 72, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on March 13, 1951 in Madison, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late Frederick “Fred” and Elizabeth (Potter) McKay. She was raised in Switzerland County, Indiana and was a 1969 graduate of the Switzerland County High School. Nancy was united in marriage to Donald Alan “Donnie” Wilson on June 23, 2001 in Lamb, Indiana. This happy blended family shared over 20 years of marriage together and was blessed with four children, Brian, Chad, Stacey and April. Nancy was a former teacher’s aide for 34 years for the Switzerland County School Corporation, retiring in 2015. She was a member of the Union Baptist Church where she served as Deaconess and held many other positions throughout the years. Nancy was also a member of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 Ladies Auxiliary. Nancy enjoyed sewing, upholstery, needlework and refinishing furniture. She loved antiques, gardening, reading and 4-wheelers. Nancy passed away at 5:05 a.m., Saturday, December 2, 2023, at the Thornton Terrace Health Campus in Hanover, Indiana.
Nancy leaves behind to cherish her memory by her sons, Brian Browning and his wife, Kristy of East Enterprise, IN and Chad Browning and his wife, Nicole of Hanover, IN; her step-daughters, Stacey Penick and her husband, Trevis of Bennington, IN and April Mahoney and her husband, Brian of Lamb, IN; her grandchildren, Ciera (Daniel) Cartwright, Cassandra(Marc) Mikesell, Brandon (Erin Webb) Browning and Karissa Browning; her step-grandchildren, Meagan (Zack) Kilborn, Brad Wilson and Colton Penick; her great-grandson, Benny Mikesell; her step-great-grandchildren, Grace Cartwright, Braxton Mikesell, Braedon King, Braelon King, Addison King, Masen Kilborn, Zaiden Kilborn, Zoe Wilson and Mia Wilson; her sisters, Diane Sigmon and her husband, Jerry of Lamb, IN and Darla McAlister and her husband, John of Vevay, IN and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Frederick “Fred” McKay, died January 22, 1996; her mother, Elizabeth (Potter) McKay, died December 7, 2022; her husband, Donald Alan “Donnie” Wilson, died August 18, 2021; her nephew, Dennis W. Sigmon, died April 24, 2002 and her niece, Tycia Lynn Sigmon- Martin, died November 2, 2014.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Funeral services and Auxiliary Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 6, 2023, by Pastor Mike Barnes, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana.
