Mrs. Marlene Jeanette (Nicewonder) Faulkner-Martin, age 59, of Patriot, Indiana, entered this life on February 19, 1965 in Covington, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Willard Daniel “Bill” and Dorothy Manalee (Barrett) Nicewonder. She was raised in Independence, Kentucky where she graduated from Simon Kenton High School. Marlene was united in marriage to William Faulkner and this union was blessed with two sons, William Nicholas Allen Faulkner and Preston William Lee Faulkner. Marlene was later united in marriage to Thomas Jay “TJ” Martin on September 5, 2008 in Erlanger, Kentucky. Marlene was formerly employed as a forklift operator for ZF Sachs Company in Florence, Kentucky for 15 years. She enjoyed shopping, watching TV, traveling and spending time with her family. Marlene passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at her residence in Patriot, Indiana.
Marlene will be deeply missed by her husband, Thomas Jay “TJ” Martin of Patriot, IN; her son, Preston Faulkner and his wife, Lauren of Vevay, IN; her granddaughter, Presli Faulkner of Vevay, IN; her close friends, William Faulkner of Crittenden, KY and Darlene Wimer and family’s of Walton, KY; her sister-in-law, Linda Fisk of Patriot, IN and her niece, Amber Cole and her husband, Clint of Rising Sun, IN.
She was preceded in death by her loving son, William Nicholas Allen Faulkner, died January 22, 2007; her father, Willard Daniel “Bill” Nicewonder, died July 24, 2011; her mother, Dorothy Manalee (Barrett) Nicewonder, died August 2, 1979; her sister, Patricia Osborne; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Woodrow and Virginia (Turner) Martin.
Marlene’s wishes were to be cremated and to be laid to rest by her son she deeply missed in the Floral Hills Cemetery, 5336 Old Taylor Mill Road, Taylor Mill, Kentucky 41015.
