Mrs. Marjorie Jane “Margie” (Maryman) Edwards, age 81, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on April 6, 1943 in Kilgore, Texas. She was the daughter of the late T.E. Thaddeus Eugene and Harriet Jane “Hattie” (Patton) Maryman. She was a 1963 graduate of Kilgore High School and attended Kilgore Jr. College. Margie was united in marriage on May 30, 1969 to Allen Ray Edwards in Longview, Texas. This happy union of over 47 years was blessed with three children. Margie was a former customer service representative for the Switzerland County Public Library for a few years. She was a member of the Ruter Chapel United Methodist Church where she served as secretary from 1989-1994. Margie enjoyed reading and gardening and loved spending time with her family. Margie passed away at 10:26 a.m., Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.
Margie will be missed by her sons, Christopher Allen Edwards and his wife, Linda of Madison, IN, and Dustin Eugene Edwards of Vevay, IN; her daughter, Ami Lynn Edwards and her fiancé, Ryan Montgomery of Rising Sun, IN; her grandchildren, Cody Allen Thomas, Jesse Lee Edwards, Joshua Jewell, Treyton Edwards, Michael Allen Edwards, and Lucas Eugene Edwards; her great-grandchildren, Lillian and Elijah Jewell; her brother, Joe Acker and his wife, Linda of Longview, TX; her sisters-in-law, Alice Faye Whitham of Vevay, IN, Harriet Bovard of Vevay, IN, and Patty Haley of Goodlettsville, TN; her brother-in-law, Jesse Dale Edwards of Vevay, IN and her several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Ray Edwards; her father, T.E. Thaddeus Eugene Maryman; her mother, Harriet Jane “Hattie” (Patton) Maryman; her biological mother, Corinne Sarah (Maryman) Acker; her step-father, J.D. Acker; and her niece, Pansy Lou (Peters) Bledsoe.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 6, 2025, by Pastor Mike Sawalich, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
