Mrs. Kala Sue Judy, age 35 of Vevay, Indiana, was born on June 11, 1989, in Middletown, Ohio. She was a 2008 graduate of Middletown High School. A talented photographer, Kala found joy in capturing life’s moments and sharing her passion through her art. Kala was married to Brent Wayne Judy on June 16, 2012, in Vevay, Indiana, and together they created a loving home filled with warmth and creativity. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her beloved family. She was a devoted mother who cherished every moment spent with her son, Alex, whom she regarded as her proudest accomplishment. Her love for her family was evident in all she did, particularly in her role as a guiding force in Alex’s life. Kala was known for her caring nature and she cherished coaching her son’s games and taking day trips with friends that created lasting memories along the way. She had an enthusiasm for cooking and crafts creating beautiful treasures. Kala was known for her loving and caring nature and putting others before herself, always ready to lend a hand or a shoulder to those in need. She had a vibrant spirit, infectious sense of humor, and was trustworthy. She had a special love for carrot cake, which brought her joy, and she cherished moments spent at her favorite places, including Disney World, Cincinnati Reds games, the zoo, and Kings Island. A talented decorator, Kala took great delight in transforming her home for Halloween and Christmas, showcasing her keen eye for design. She was also an attentive listener and an exceptional gift giver, dedicating time throughout the year to find the perfect presents for her family and friends, ensuring that every Christmas was filled with love and thoughtfulness. Her spirit and love will be remembered by all who knew her, and her legacy lives on through her son, Alex. In her heart, Kala embraced the motto of a wonderful mother, and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Kala passed away with her loving family by her side at 10:09 p.m., Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
Kala’s life will forever be cherished by her loving husband, Brent Wayne Judy of Vevay, IN; her son, Alexander Judy of Vevay, IN; her mother, Julie Abner Corley of Middletown, OH; her brother, Jason Prater and his wife, Amanda, of Alexandria, KY; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Errol Wayne and Jill Judy of Vevay, IN; her sister-in-law, Crista Burbrink and her husband, Phil of Columbus, IN; her nieces and nephews, Mason Kaiser, Mallory Kaiser, Isabel Burbrink and Julia Burbrink; her best friends, Ashley Mathis and her spouse, Jennifer of Cincinnati, OH, Ragen Bentz of Deputy, IN and Alison Napier of Covington, KY and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Darrel Corley; her half-sister, Amanda Lynch and her grandmother, Carolyn R. Taylor Abner.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 18, 2024, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
The Celebration of Kala’s Life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 19, 2024, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will be held at a later date.
