Mrs. Geneva “G.G.” (Hawkins) Robinson, age 96, of Florence, Indiana, entered this life on December 30, 1925 in Anderson County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late, Walter and Lillian (Morgan) Hawkins. She was raised in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky and attended Western High School. Geneva was united in marriage on February 2, 1946 to Walter S. Robinson. This happy union of over 45 years was blessed with three children. Geneva was employed as a cementer for the US Shoe Factory in Vevay, Indiana, retiring after 37 years of service. She also farmed all of her life and cleaned houses for 20 years. Geneva was a member of the Center Square Baptist Church in Center Square, Indiana. Geneva enjoyed working, going to church and reading, as well as, working crossword puzzles, flowers, gardening, cooking, baking and listening to The Gaither’s. Geneva passed away at 1:26 a.m., Monday, September 5, 2022, at the St. Elizabeth Dearborn Hospital in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
Geneva will be missed by her daughters, Sharon Deck and her husband, Joe of Vevay, IN and Kimberly Ann Hambrick of East Enterprise, IN; her son, Wayne Robinson and his companion, Rhonda of Rising Sun, IN; her grandchildren, Leanne Koenig (Dustin), Amanda Cole (Adam), Joey Deck (Adrianne), Josh Deck (Erin), Jeremy Robinson (Sarah), Robert Ace and Taylor Hambrick; her great-grandchildren, Tanner Koenig, Peyton Koenig, Zoe Cole, Ava Cole, Kennedy Deck, Addison Deck, Owen Deck, Whitney Robinson, Isabella Robinson, Robbie Wood and Ashlee Wood; her great-great-grandchildren, Paisley Liter, Hadley Liter and Crimson Robinson and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lillian (Morgan) Hawkins; her husband, Walter S. Robinson, died December 1, 1991; her son-in-law, Gary Lee Hambrick; her grandson, Hunter Robinson; her brothers, Edward, Gilbert, Thomas and Earl Hawkin and her sisters, Oneta Wilson, Louise Thomas, Adi Shouse, Thelma Irene Drury, Emma Georgia Perry and Mary Virginia Bryant.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 12, 2022, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 13, 2022, by Pastor Gary Shepherd, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the New Liberty Cemetery in East Enterprise, Indiana.
