Mrs. Frances Lorraine (Peters) Pike White

Mrs. Frances Lorraine (Peters) Pike White, age 93, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on November 21, 1927 on Tapps Ridge in Switzerland County, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late, Lewis “Jock” and Alma Geneva (Scott) Peters. She was raised near Florence, Indiana and attended Florence and Patriot High Schools. Frances was united in marriage on April 22, 1944 in Vevay, Indiana to Ralph A. “Red” Pike. This happy union was blessed with two daughters, Peggy and Shirley and they shared 45 years of marriage together until his death on July 13, 1989. In March 1949, Frances was employed for the US Shoe Factory in Vevay, Indiana, retiring in 1991 after 42 years of service. Frances lived in the East Enterprise community and later moved to the Vevay community in 1950 to be closer to work and the girls’ school. She later was employed for Wal-Mart in Madison, Indiana for three years. She was a member of the Vevay Christian Church where she taught Sunday school class for 20 years and later became a member of the Florence Church of Christ where she taught Sunday school class for four years. She also was the church treasurer for 26 years. Frances was later united in marriage to Jessi White on October 13, 1997 in Rising Sun, Indiana. Frances and Jessi shared nearly eight years of marriage together until his death on January 31, 2005. Frances passed away with her loving family by her side at 7:15 p.m., Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at her residence in Vevay, Indiana.

Frances leaves behind her daughters, Peggy Jean Hilligoss of Vevay, IN and Shirley E. Neal of Galloway, OH; her step-daughter, Darlene White of Rising Sun, IN; her grandchildren, James “Bobby” Hilligoss and his wife, Pam of Markland, IN, Roger Hilligoss of Rising Sun, IN, Richard Hilligoss and his wife, Susan of Vevay, IN, Tim Neal and his companion, Wendy of Galloway, OH and Roxanna Hilligoss Williams and her husband, Terry of Elkhart, IN; her numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Barbara J. “Babe” Bowling and her husband, Earl of Fairview, IN; her sisters-in-law. Florence Peters and Harriet Bovard of Vevay, IN and her several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis “Jock” Peters, died May 1992 and Alma Geneva (Scott) Peters, died November 1987; her 1st husband, Ralph A. Pike, died July 13, 1989; her 2nd husband, Jessi White, died January 31, 2005; her brothers, Luther Lee Peters, died May 1934, Paul Vernon “Jack” Peters, died May 1976 and Robert Earl “Bub” Peters, died July 1985; her sons-in-law, Kenneth Neal, died August 1998 and James Robert “Butch” Hilligoss, died September 2019; her step-son, Jessi White, Jr., died August 2019 and her great-grandchildren, Carrie Ann Magyar, died August 2019 and Scott Patrick Hilligoss, died December 2019.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Monday, July 26, 2021, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, July 26, 2021, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
