Mrs. Evelina Mae “Evie” (Sebree) Rassman, age 68, of Rexville, Indiana, formerly of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on June 2, 1948, in Milan, Indiana, the loving daughter of the late, William and Mandy (Beach) Sebree. She was raised in Vevay, Indiana, where she attended the Vevay High School. Evie was united in marriage on December 1, 1986 in Warsaw, Kentucky to Donald Rassman. Evie and Donald shared nearly 30 years of marriage together until her death. Evie was employed as a heat sealer for the US Shoe Factory in Vevay, Indiana for 12 years. She was a former waitress and bartender for the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and for Randy’s Tavern in Vevay, Indiana. She was a member of the Shelby Christian Church in Ripley County, Indiana. Evie enjoyed collecting everything from ink pens to porcelain dolls and Avon, which her family so dearly loved dusting for her! Evie also enjoyed writing, bowling and playing softball, but most of all, spending time with her family. For the past several years Evie’s health declined and Donald faithfully catered to Evie’s every need. Evie will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends. Evie passed away at 3:30 am, Thursday, June 16, 2016, at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana.
Evie will be dearly missed by her loving husband of nearly 30 years: Donald Rassman of Rexville, IN; her daughter: Lisa Lynn Burk and her husband: Brad of Vevay, IN; her sons: Keith Minch and his wife: Siobhan of Indianapolis, IN and Terry Minch of Vevay, IN; her step-sons: Donald Allen Rassman, Jr. and his wife: Tonya, Norman Rassman and Joey Rassman all of Carrollton, KY; her grandchildren: Bradlee, Braden, Ciaran, Aidan, Malread, Eamonn, Shauna, Kendra, Heather, Zack, Austin and Kayla; her 8-great-grandchildren; her brothers: Curtis Sebree and his wife: Mary of Rexville, IN, Earl “Doc” Sebree and his wife: Freda of Rexville, IN and Junior Sebree and his wife: Barb of Kearney, NE; her sisters-in-law: Patty Baatz-Sebree of Hanover, IN, Jean Sebree of Jacksonville, FL and Doris Sebree of Vevay, IN and her several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: William and Mandy (Beach) Sebree; her brothers: Charles, Bobby, James, Albert “Abe”, Jack, Frank and Joseph Paul “Joe” Sebree; her sisters: Bertha Carter, Carolyn Sebree, Ressie Virginia Sebree and Betty Lou Wood.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 20, 2016, at 11:00 am, by Bro. Tim Heim and Bro. Seth Adamson, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens, Madison, Indiana.
