Mrs. Dolly Melvina (Brinson) Lipperd

Mrs. Dolly Melvina (Brinson) Lipperd, age 89, of Versailles, Indiana, formerly of Bennington, Indiana, entered this life on January 16, 1933 on Hicks Ridge, Ripley County, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late Wilbur Roscoe Brinson, Sr. and Cornelia Gladys (Wolf) Brinson. She was raised on Hicks Ridge & moved to Benham, Indiana at the age of 14, where she attended the Cross Plains High School. Dolly was united in marriage on December 27, 1954 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Ernest William “Ernie” Lipperd, Sr.. They were blessed with three daughters & three sons. They shared nearly 62 years of marriage together until he passed away on June 26, 2016. Dolly & Ernie enjoyed farming on their family farm in Bennington, Indiana from 1969-2013, when they moved to Versailles, Indiana. Dolly was a wonderful homemaker & enjoyed wheeling & dealing in antiques. Dolly attended the Crossroads Community Wesleyan Church in Holton, Indiana. Dolly passed away at 12:50 p.m., Monday, October 24, 2022, at her residence in Versailles, Indiana.

Dolly will be missed by her daughters, Renee Lee Wise and her husband, Fred of Lebanon, OH and Mavis Marilyn Cope and her husband, Rick of Batesville, IN; her sons, Ernest Henry Lipperd and his wife, Amy of Versailles, IN and Robert David Lipperd and his wife, Rhonda of Versailles, IN; her 19-grandchildren and her 29-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wilbur Roscoe Brinson, Sr., died October 19, 1972; her mother, Cornelia Gladys (Wolf) Brinson, died April 24, 1943; her husband, Ernest William “Ernie” Lipperd, Sr., died June 26, 2016; her daughter, Marcia Ann Chism, died October 2019; her son, Terry Randall Lipperd, died 1996; her brothers, Wilbur Roscoe Brinson, Jr., died March 30, 1998 and Richard Clair Brinson, died October 19, 1998; her sister, Mavis Marilyn Hogue, died May 31, 2017; her brother-in-law, James Edward Hogue, died December 31, 1989; her sisters-in-law, Leola Maxine (Dennis) Brinson, died June 6, 2020, Reba JoAnn Brinson, died June 16, 2010 & Evelyn Ruth “Lynn” Lostutter, died January 15, 2006; her niece, Marilyn Phelps, died October 21, 2007 and her nephew, Richard Douglas Brinson, died April 26, 2011.

Private graveside services for the family only, will be conducted on Friday, October 28, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., by Pastor Brian Horan at the Washington Baptist Church Cemetery in Elrod, Indiana.

Interment will follow in the Washington Baptist Church Cemetery in Elrod, Indiana.
