Mrs. Carolyn L. (Miller) Griffin, age 85, of Pleasant, Indiana, entered this life on February 9, 1935 in Zenas, Jennings County, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late Arnold Wilbur and Gladys Mary (Lindsay) Miller. She was raised in Pleasant, Indiana and attended Vevay High School. Carolyn was united in marriage on March 1, 1952 in Vevay, Indiana by Rev. Griffith to the late Everett Dean Griffin. This happy union was blessed with three sons Ronnie, Dwayne and Mike and a daughter, Joyce. Carolyn and Dean shared nearly 65 loving years of marriage together until Dean passed away on February 23, 2017. Carolyn was the former Pleasant Township Trustee retiring in 2008 after 24 years of service. She was formerly employed for the Switzerland County License Branch in Vevay, Indiana for four years and for the US Shoe Factory in Vevay, Indiana for five years. Carolyn was a notary and a self-employed wallpaper hanger for many years. She resided all of her life in the Pleasant, Indiana community and was a member of the St. Mary’s Homemakers Club and Brushy Fork Baptist Church. Carolyn will be remembered for her love of quilting and watching the Cincinnati Reds and IU basketball. Carolyn passed away at 7:50 a.m., Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.
Carolyn will be missed by her children, Ronnie Griffin and his wife, Mary Lou of Bennington, IN, Dwayne Griffin and his wife, Brenda of Rising Sun, IN, Mike Griffin and his wife, Cindy of Madison, IN and Joyce Barnes and her husband, Mike of near Moorefield, IN; her grandchildren, Travis, Christy, Amber, Ryan, Michelle, Kassie and Emily; her great-grandchildren, Aiden, Abbey, Avery, Conner, Chloe, Audrey, Tucker, Kellan, Shawna, Kipton, Jessie, Maddie, Kade and Kemper; her step-grandchildren, Kevin and Kelli; her step-great-grandchildren, Bryant, Briann, Liliana and Abby; her sister-in-law, Carolyn Miller of Vevay, IN and her several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold Wilbur Miller, died May 22, 1967 and Gladys Mary (Lindsay) Miller, died November 5, 1995; her husband, Everett Dean Griffin, died February 23, 2017; her grandson, Shawn Michael Barnes, died March 27, 2000; her great-grandson, Phoenix Garcia, died July 7, 2017; her sister, Marilyn A. (Miller) Morgan, died August 13, 2016; her brother, Rev. Kenneth Earl “Kenny” Miller, died March 7, 2017 and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, John Griffin, died July 10, 1972 and Frona (St. John) Griffin, died October 20, 1988.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, February 21, 2020, at 10:00 a.m., by Pastor Chris Clemans, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Pleasant Cemetery, Pleasant, Indiana.
