Mrs. Barbara Jean (Gullion) Peelman

Mrs. Barbara Jean (Gullion) Peelman, age 77, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on October 30, 1945 in Patriot, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late Verle and Mary Barbara (Chandler) Gullion. Barbara was raised on Bennington Pike and attended Vevay High School. She later received her GED from Versailles Career Center when she was 50 years old and she was very proud of that. Barbara was united in marriage to Harold M. Peelman on May 15, 1971 in Vevay, Indiana and they shared nearly 49 years together until his passing on March 29, 2020. Barbara was formerly employed for Randall Textron for 30 years as a production worker from 1966-1996. She also worked for Dorman Products in Warsaw, Kentucky from 1996-2008, retiring after 12 years of service. Later, along with her daughter-in-law, Bev, cleaned several homes around the area. She resided in the Switzerland County community all of her life. Barbara enjoyed cleaning, cooking, flowers, dog, cats, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Barbara passed away at 5:36 a.m., Thursday, May 11, 2023, at her residence in Vevay, Indiana.

Barbara will be missed by her sons, Harold Leon “HL” Gullion and his wife, Bev of Vevay, IN, James Robert Lock of Madison, IN, Verle Leslie Lock of Vevay, IN; her grandchildren, Michael Harold Gullion of Vevay, IN and Jamie Lee Gullion and his wife, Kirstie of Vevay, IN; her great-grandchildren, Samantha and Colton Gullion; her sister-in-law, Anna D. (Lock) Sanders of Vevay, IN and her several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Verle and Mary Barbara (Chandler) Gullion; her husband, Harold M. Peelman; her sisters, Ethel Marie Adamski, Dianna Sue Konkle and Mary Ann Leap; her brothers, Rev. George Elmer “Buddy” Gullion and Robert Leslie “Lee” Gullion; her brothers-in-law, Michael J. “Mike” Leap, Donald Konkle, Sr. and Don Adamski, Sr. and her niece Mary Jane Konkle.

Private services will be held at a later date.
