Mrs. Anna D. (Lock) Sanders, age 77, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on February 7, 1946 in Vevay, Indiana. She was born to the parents of John Harvey Lock, Sr., and Aileen (Lothridge) Lock. She was raised in Switzerland County, Indiana where she attended high school. Anna was united in marriage to Raymond Gene Sanders on October 1, 1962 in Jeffersonville, Indiana. This happy union of nearly 44 years was blessed with two children. Anna was employed for Randall Textron in Vevay, Indiana for 40 years. She was later employed by the US Shoe Factory in Vevay, Indiana, until the plant closed in December 1999. She was employed for BESI Inc. in Vevay, Indiana, retiring after several years of service. Anna enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, and baking, as well as, watching NASCAR and game shows. Anna loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as, spending time with her friends playing cards. Anna passed away at 7:00 a.m., Monday, October 2, 2023, at the Community Hospice Alice and T. O’Neal Douglas Center for Caring in Jacksonville, Florida.
Anna will be missed by her daughter, Tammy Sanders of Jacksonville, FL; her daughter-in-law, Cathy Sanders of Vevay, IN; her grandchildren, Floyd McEntire, Jr. and his wife, Roxanne, Amie Jo McEntire and her companion, Thomas Davidson and Tyler Sanders; her great-grandchildren, David Skirvin, Jr., Katlynn McEntire, Jasper Skirvin, Miley McEntire, Athena Davidson and Ainsley McEntire and her several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Harvey Lock, Sr., died December 2, 1962; her mother, Aileen (Lothridge) Lock, died June 15, 2003; her husband, Raymond Gene Sanders, died September 29, 2006; her son, Larry G. Sanders, died July 25, 2022; her brothers, John Hugh Lock, died December 18, 1934, Ronald Wayne Lock, died November 9, 1949, William E. Lock, died June 26, 1966, Larry Gene Lock, died February 13, 2010 and John Harvey Lock, Jr., died December 7, 2019 and her sisters, Bessie Jane Lock, died November 16, 1950 and Beverly Sue Stephens, died April 4, 1971.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 10, 2023, by Rev. Mike Jones, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
