Mrs. Ann H. (Hedges) Pike

Mrs. Ann H. (Hedges) Pike, age 86, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on September 9, 1936 in Flemingsburg, Kentucky. She was the loving daughter of the late Thomas Dudley Hedges, Sr. and Mary G. (Gardner) Hedges. She was raised in Charlestown, Indiana and was a 1955 graduate of Charlestown High School. She furthered her education in Nursing and interned at the Madison State Hospital in Madison, Indiana. Ann was united in marriage to Frank Dee Pike and they shared many years together. Ann was formerly employed for the Charlestown Powder Plant. She was later employed for Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center as a MDS Coordinator and QMA from 1985-2005. Ann also helped her husband on the family farm for many years. Ann enjoyed gardening, chickens, peacocks, cats and all animals. Ann passed away at 11:50 a.m., Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.

Ann will be missed by her daughter, Karen Downing and her husband, Scott of Sterling, KS; her sons, Michael Saunders and his wife, Pam of Sellersburg, IN, Franklin Dee Pike and his wife, Sharon of Erlanger, KY, William “Billy” Lee Pike and his wife, Tanya of Bennington, IN and David Gardner Pike of East Enterprise, IN; her grandchildren, Matthew Downing and his wife, Kendra, Andrew Downing, Zachary Downing, Bradley Saunders, Derek Pike, Mariah Pike, Hunter Pike, Amanda Krall and her husband, Matt, Sydney Sefton and her husband, Trevor, Will Pike, Logan Pike and his wife, Rachel and Emily Pike; her great-grandchildren, Daxton Savage, Ramsey Krall, Locklan Krall, Maverick Sefton, Bexlee Sefton and Lily LouAnn Saunders; her sisters, Nina Gayle of Vevay, IN, Betty Hedges of Chicago, IL and Rebecca Bridgewater of Tallahassee, FL; her brother, Thomas Hedges, Jr. of Concord, NC and her several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Dudley Hedges, Sr. and Mary G. (Gardner) Hedges; her husband, Frank Dee Pike, died November 26, 2019; her infant brother, David Stanley Hedges; her brother-in-law, Stanley N. “Sonny” Gayle, Jr. and her nephew, Michael Gayle.

Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 12, 2023, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 12, 2023 at 1:00 p.m., by Rev. Bobby O’Banion at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
