Mrs. Alana Claire (Freeman) Turner

Mrs. Alana Claire (Freeman) Turner, age 78, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on June 10, 1948 in East Tawas, Michigan. She was raised in Oscoda, Michigan where she graduated from Tawas High School in Tawas, Michigan. Alana was united in marriage on February 9, 1990 to Jerry Lee Turner. This union was blessed with three children, Melissa, Jennifer, and Jerry. Alana was a former teacher’s aide in Mt. Clemens, Michigan for several years. She also owned and operated a body shop in Corbin, Kentucky for several years. She was a member of Brookside Fellowship Church in Chesterfield, Michigan. Alana enjoyed playing bingo, going out to eat with her family, shopping, and spending time with her grandchildren. Alana unexpectedly passed away at 9:38 p.m., Monday, July 6, 2026, at Majestic Care of North Vernon, Indiana.

Alana is survived by her daughters, Melissa Hickey and her husband, Guy of Warren, MI, and Jennifer Dulaney of Warren, MI; her son, Jerry Turner and his wife, Chelsea of Vevay, IN; her grandchildren, Kelsey, Abbey, Payton, Mahalia, Parker, Charlotte, and Rosalie; her great-grandchildren, Noah, Cozzette, and Davina; her sister, Deborah “Debbie” Cox of Vevay, IN; her stepsister, Gwen Ryder of Chesterfield, MI; her stepbrother, Doug Shoop of Oscoda, MI; and her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harry A. Freeman, died August 14, 2006; her mother, Alice (McLean) Freeman, died September 28, 1992; her husband, Jerry Lee Turner, died September 17, 1992; her brother, Jeffrey Freeman; and her stepbrother, Kenneth “Ken” Simmons.

Alana will be laid to rest with her husband in the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
